MY STORY
Throughout my life, I've known that a STEM job was my calling. I love working in teams and doing things with my hands, and always had an aptitude for both math and science. I plan to pursue a job in the health sciences, though I am currently unsure if that will be in the context of practicing medicine or doing research. All I know right now is that benefitting people through a job in the health fields will be a very fulfilling career!
Outside of classes, I can be found making music on my guitar or keyboard, or even singing it with friends! I also love to immerse myself in physical activity. I run, play volleyball, Spikeball or any other multitude of sports! Put simply, if it involves activity, I am down! A few other of my hobbies include some basic biomedical research and solving Rubik's Cubes.
When juggling all of these activities, I make sure keep my mind clear and focused. Sometimes I journal to myself as a way to send myself future messages of motivation. I have lofty goals and hopes and dreams and I know that a lot of commitment will be required. However, I often like to imagine my future self being proud of the work that I have put in to get where I am. I am also motivated by imagining a life where I am truly happy. I am happy in my job, relationships, and family. I see so often people who care about making money at the cost of their own mental or physical well-being, and I simply don't get it. To me an unhappy life is not one worth living.
